Description of resource
The Healthy K.I.D.S. program consists of newsletters and a parent guide in English and Spanish, as well as accompanying lesson plans. These materials provide simple, accurate and culturally relevant information on nutrition and fitness.

The project is supported by a grant from MetLife Foundation. The materails were developed by clinicians from The Children's Health Fund's National Children's Health Project Network.

Healthy K.I.D.S. materials are produced in accordance with low literacy writing and design conventions. Authors strive to incorporate ethnic and cultural diversity into all content and illustrations. Materials are field tested within CHFs National Network and are reviewed by a medical anthropologist for cross cultural appropriateness, and an exercise physiologist for safety.
