Description of resource
Healthy eating and physical activity are important life skills students need to be healthy and to do their best in school. Providing a healthy school nutrition environment is one way to ensure children are encouraged to make healthy choices. Changing the Scene is an action kit to help parents, teachers, school administrators, school foodservice professionals, and the community look at their school nutrition environment and identify areas needing improvement. The tool kit contains A Guide to Local Action, a CD-ROM with most of the materials in the kit, support materials, a power point presentation with transparencies and script included, brochures, and a video. Changing the Scene helps you to examine the current school nutrition environment, develop a plan for improvement, and put the plan into action.
